About GEA HeatWorks

Two decades of thermal engineering excellence, serving six continents from our Hamburg headquarters.

The GEA HeatWorks Story

Founded in 2004 in Hamburg, Germany, GEA HeatWorks started as a specialist plate heat exchanger manufacturer supplying Northern European food and chemical processing plants. The first production facility — a 4,200 m² plant in Hamburg-Wilhelmsburg — focused on gasketed plate heat exchangers with capacities from 50 kW to 2 MW.

By 2010, demand from pharmaceutical and marine clients drove expansion into shell-and-tube and brazed plate designs. A second manufacturing site opened in Brno, Czech Republic in 2014, adding ASME U-Stamp capability for the North American market. The third facility, in Pune, India, began operations in 2019 to serve Asia-Pacific customers with shorter lead times.

Today, 520 employees including 62 thermal engineers deliver AHRI-certified, PED-compliant, ASME-stamped heat exchangers to food & beverage, pharmaceutical, chemical processing, data center, HVAC, and marine sectors across 52 countries. Annual production capacity stands at 7,500 units across the three facilities.
